1 Service Description

ChatterBridge is a bi-directional message bridge that connects WhatsApp groups to Slack channels. By installing ChatterBridge in your Slack workspace, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Real-Time Relay

Messages are relayed between platforms in real time without permanent storage

Channel-to-Group Linking

Each WhatsApp group maps to a Slack channel via a simple connect command

Text & Media Support

Text messages, images, documents, audio, and video are bridged between platforms

Threaded Conversations

Each WhatsApp group gets a dedicated thread in Slack for organized messaging

Dependency notice: ChatterBridge requires active accounts on both Slack and WhatsApp. Service functionality depends on the availability of both platforms' APIs.

2 Account & Access

Installation & Authorization

By installing ChatterBridge to your Slack workspace, you authorize us to access the channels you configure. Only workspace administrators or members with appropriate permissions may install the app.

                  
                  Your Responsibilities
                
You are responsible for managing who has access to linked channels and groups
You must have authority to connect WhatsApp groups on behalf of their participants
You must ensure all participants are aware that messages are being bridged
You are responsible for the content sent through the bridge by your workspace members

Re-Installation

Re-installing ChatterBridge in a workspace that already has it installed will remove all existing channel-to-group mappings, conversation threads, and pending connections. A fresh setup will be required. Usage data and subscription status are preserved.

3 Acceptable Use

You agree to use ChatterBridge in a lawful and responsible manner. The following uses are prohibited:

Spam & Abuse

Sending unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or harassing content through the bridge

Illegal Content

Transmitting content that violates any applicable laws or regulations

Automated Abuse

Using bots or automated systems to circumvent rate limits or flood the bridge

Platform Violations

Any use that violates Slack's or WhatsApp's terms of service

Enforcement: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service for any workspace that violates these terms, without prior notice in cases of egregious abuse.

4 Trial & Subscription

Free Trial

Each workspace receives a trial allowance of 100 bridged messages per 30-day period. No credit card required.

Active Subscription

Workspaces with an active subscription enjoy unlimited message bridging with no per-message limits.

Trial Exhausted

When the trial limit is reached, message bridging pauses until the next 30-day period or until a subscription is activated.

Period Reset

Trial message counts reset automatically every 30 days from the date of first use.

5 Data & Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.

6 Service Availability

We make reasonable efforts to maintain service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. ChatterBridge depends on third-party services including:

Slack API

For sending and receiving messages in Slack channels

WhatsApp API

For sending and receiving messages in WhatsApp groups

Google Cloud Platform

For hosting, data storage, and message processing infrastructure

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated in advance when possible.

7 Intellectual Property

Our Property

The ChatterBridge service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by ChatterBridge and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the service.

Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the messages and files that pass through ChatterBridge. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. We access your content solely to provide the bridging service.

8 Limitation of Liability

ChatterBridge is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the service's fitness for a particular purpose
We are not liable for message delivery failures, delays, or data loss caused by third-party platform outages
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid to ChatterBridge in the 12 months preceding the claim
We are not responsible for the content of messages transmitted through the bridge

9 Termination

By You

You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the ChatterBridge app from your Slack workspace. All channel mappings, threads, and pending links are automatically deleted.

By ChatterBridge

We may suspend or terminate service for violations of these terms, non-payment, or abuse. We will provide notice where reasonably practicable.

After Termination

Upon termination, all workspace data is removed. Usage history and billing records may be retained as required by law.

10 Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
